The Galactic Reign

How to Take the Stares - Tip #2: ALWAYS try on something before purchasing it (including jewelry). Nine times out of ten, it looks a lot different on you than how it looks on the rack. That way, you know your purchase was well worth that swipe, or well worth the few extra bucks you saved!

In a galaxy far, far away... the art of the universe and the art of fashion joined forces to create a brand new print to light up this planet in a whole new way. Today, I Take the Stares to infinity and beyond in a pair of galaxy leggings that splashed a little sunshine onto this rainy day...

Leggings are definitely the comeback-kid of fashion. And what better way to honor such a comeback then by throwing some stellar prints on it? Last year it was tribal. This year, we're taking it to the moon and stars. The great thing about the galaxy print is that they've been designed in so many different colors and patterns, that there's a pair that speaks literally for everyone. These spoke to me because they look like I'm standing on the actual sun. They're so powerful!!

Now for leggings with a wild print, tone it down with a modest top. Less is more!

Point toed heels are also in the comeback kid category, and let me tell you, I'm so glad they are. They are the perfect ingredient to a fashionable outfit, especially these. You could rock these with a pair of skinny jeans and a V-neck, and you are ready to go Ms.Fashionista. These shoe's make me feel like galactic Barbie.

There's some rumor going around that you can't wear leggings as pants, and today, I put that to rest. Leggings can definitely be worn as pants - when tastefully done. Since it's already enough that leggings give you a silhouette of everything from the waist down, balance that out by wearing a looser fitting shirt. I love how they look with a loose fitting crop top or tank.

Taylor Made

"You know how every girl should have a little black dress in their closet? Well I believe every girl should have a long, black skirt." Out of the many fashion tips that Taylor Saxton would give to me during the time we spent going through her closet, this tip would be one of those she valued the most. "A tight, black skirt will go a long way in your wardrobe. It's classy, simple, and you can pair it with just about any top to create a hot look." And as you can see, that turned out to be very true. This digital broadcast and communications major from Marietta, Georgia aspires to Take the Stares in the spotlight someday as a news or entertainment reporter. Let's see how she Takes the Stares during a night on the town...

So what's the secret to this sexy ensemble? "The top to this piece is actually a swimsuit. I love using one-piece swimsuits as bodysuits." This is the definition of keeping an open mind. The tight, black pencil skirt and peach swimsuit ensemble turns into a cute evening dress.

"A little can say a whole lot. Showing cleavage isn't really my style. I think showing off your back says so much more. I like to wear outfits that keep the eye guessing. Wearing a skirt, such as this one, instead of a short, mini skirt may not show off my legs, but it will certainly accentuate my shape."

Oh, and by the way, we love these ankle-strap sandals! They're perfect for a night out. I think the secret to these shoes is that they give the illusion that your foot is naked while still having the elevated appeal that heels bring to your feet. So even when you decide to wear some of your more conservative evening wear, these shoes do all the talking and allow you to show enough skin without overdoing it.

"It's important to keep older pieces in your closet so you can learn how to pair them with newer pieces you may attain in the future. By recycling your old clothes, the variety of new outfits you can create is endless!"

"Keeping it simple is important, too. It's not always about dressing up." I liked this point. Remember that you make the outfit. Don't let the outfit make, or break, you.
"It's important to learn your body type. What works for someone else may not work for you. I like to wear things that pull me in, such as high waisted pants."

Well, I believe Taylor will definitely Take the Stares tonight. And her outfit is only the icing to her passionate, ambitious, and caring personality. It's her ability to rock her chic style with a cool confidence you won't come by very often that takes the cake.

"Stay true to your style. No one can truly believe in it except yourself."

Hey. We're Scarving Over Here!

How To Take The Stares: Tip #1 - Accessories will always complement an outfit, no matter where you choose to put them. Don't be afraid get a little innovative...

Welcome to Take the Stares! Have you taken your fair share of stares today? I know I have. What's red and satin and paisley all over?  Today I've got some fun accessories for you all to view today. And with that  being said, lets get right to it...

Never underestimate the power of a cute scarf my friends. Now usually if you spot me on campus, you would normally see me sporting a scarf as a cute bow wrapped around my head. But if the weather where you are is anything like that in Athens, Georgia this season, then maybe you can think of some alternative ways to keep your scarf trending without breaking a sweat! Take this outfit for example. Today I used my scarf as a cute neck piece to spruce up a casual outfit. And although using the scarf as a neck bandana gives my look a street wear vibe, the satin material gives it a classy and sophisticated edge while the bright red really brings the outfit to life. And you can always count on different patterns of paisley to pull out that hint of funkiness your look so desired.

I won't say too much about this purse except that it was love at first sight. I knew in my heart I was not leaving the store without it. I. LOVE. THIS. PURSE. From the long strap to the picture of the woman near the bridge with her sequenced flare, this purse just screams vintage to me. And all the colors in this purse allow this accessory to spice up any plain outfit.

High-waisted pants, where have you been on my life? Probably amongst the late 80's and early 90's. But boy, have they made their come back. You can wear them out on the town with a nice pair of heels and a tight top, or if you just want to look nice for class you can dress them down in a simple tank top and flats. But no matter how you choose to wear them, they will almost ALWAYS accentuate those curves, especially with a belt buckled over them like the one above. It's not a crime to flaunt what you've been blessed with! I also wanted to combine these earth-toned pants with some colors that really pop, like electric blue and red!

From a distance, they just look like a plain pair of red flats. But in reality, they are the pair of red flats: The pair of red flats to give any simple outfit the charisma it needs. The pair of red flats with the peep toe, perfect for warm weather and summer adventures. The pair of red flats that has the fun "jelly" look. The red pair of flats that make you just want to take the stares.
